These are examples of the type of work and workmanship you can expect from American Pavement Specialists. American Pavement will pave on an average of two parking lots, a road, and 5 to 10 driveways, in any given week. All performed with a crew of 15 men (5 which are immediate family members). American is lean and mean. Every employee from the office to the laborers have been with American since the beginning and have been trained in virtually every part of the paving work.
Asphalt is not a science, it is an art. Every job is completely different from the last. To execute a successful paving job every employee involved has to know the work inside and out from top to bottom. American prides itself on having highly skilled employees and millions of dollars of state of the art equipment.
Lee Farm Corporate Park, Danbury, CT.
Lee Farm Corporate Park was a project that was completed in less than a week. During the paving construction the corporate park remained open and traffic flowed with out any interruptions to the buildings daily operations.
American completed a major portion of the work on Saturdays when the office building was closed and the parking areas were free of traffic. This project consisted of milling and paving over a 100,000 sq.ft. of parking lot and road way. The job was finished flawlessly and professionally.
Pitney Bowes Danbury, CT.
The Pitney Bowes re-construction project was a major new to old transformation. This project consisted of a full depth reclamation in the old parking areas and road ways, stripping of all top soil 1 foot deep, removal of trees and stumps, re-locating utilities, installing new concrete sidewalks, supplying and placing 8" to 12" of process gravel and supplying and placing two 1 1/2" layers of asphalt over approx. 35,000 sq.ft.
Once again American performed a majority of these duties in house and on schedule, without disturbing the Pitney Bowes daily operations. The job was completed within budget and without a flaw.
Village Market Wilton, CT
The Wilton Village Market is an extremely busy shopping center located in the center of down town Wilton. The shopping center is so busy American took it upon themselves to hire traffic control personal. The additional personal did not only direct cars but also helped direct walking traffic in and out of the store.
One of the main objectives of American was to complete the parking lot in a neat and orderly fashion and to keep the market open with little to no interruption as possible.
Day 1 - Milling Old Asphalt
During the first day of operation, American milled the old asphalt down an inch and a half deep, using their brand new state of the art Wirtgen Cold Milling Machine. The lot was then swept and coned off appropriately for the next day of paving work.
Day 2 - Paving
The second and final day of operation consisted of American applying a coating of tack coat to milled surface to ensure a bind between the old and new black top. Then American placed an 1 1/2" to 2" of hot asphalt down.
American started paving at approximately 6:30 a.m, so that when the market started to get busy a majority of the lot was finished and cars could start driving on and using the new parking area.
Residential Driveways
Having your driveway paved by American Pavement Specialists is by far one of the best ways to improve the look and function of your home. American will offer you a number of options to fix and/or totally replace your driveway, according to a homeowners budget or interests.
Resurface (before and after)
This resurface was done in about 4 hours from start to finish. As you can see from the "before" photo, the driveway was never done correctly. As seen on the right you can see the difference in workmanship. American has installed the driveway correctly, with the appropriate thickness.
Mill and Pave (before and after)
This driveway was in fairly good condition but like most driveways cracking does take place and often happens after a certain period of time. When cracking does happen resurfacing sooner than later can save a homeowner money, as compared to removing the entire driveway.
This resurface was finished in about a 5 hours while the family was on vacation. The family arrived home to a beautiful new driveway, that was installed by a trustworthy company.
Grade and Pave (before and after)
The driveway above is an example of a grade and pave. In this case the base material was in place and all that the driveway needed was to be leveled and paved. This driveway was done in about 3 hours from start to finish.
Rip Out and Hand Pave
In some cases driveways are too small for American's equipment. So when this happens American's skilled lay down crew will install an entire driveway by hand. This method isn't used often but when it is American ensures that the quality is equivalent to a machine layed job.
